AWARD-WINNING JOURNALIST, AUTHOR, EDITOR & BROADCASTER
JULIET RIX IS AN AWARD-WINNING FREELANCE JOURNALIST
Juliet Rix works for the Guardian, Telegraph, Times, and other national and international newspapers, magazines and websites, as well as broadcasting, mostly for the BBC, for whom she previously worked in television and as a foreign correspondent. She is the award-winning editor of biannual drink and travel magazine, Tonic, and contributing editor to leading travel magazine Wanderlust. Juliet is the author of two non-fiction books for adults and two fiction books for children.
Juliet writes particularly on travel, health, art, heritage and culture, as well as interviewing a broad range of people. She has won a number of writing awards.
Both as a broadcaster, and in person, she gives talks, chairs panels and leads workshops, and has been a judge on journalism and audio awards. She is a lecturer/tour leader for Martin Randall Travel and Kirker, and has specialist knowledge of Malta.
Her degree in Natural Sciences (biological) and History of Art set the tone for Juliet’s ranging across subjects, and she also has a number of public roles. She chairs professional fitness to practise tribunals for the Health & Care Professions Council, as well as representing the public interest as a lay member of two health-related independent government scientific advisory committees.
Previous jobs include Consultant Editor (online content), radio & TV production, reporting and presenting, as trusteeships for two charities, including the Student Publication Association.

Juliet is also writing a book on statues of women in London (which is proving really interesting, and she wishes she had more time!) - out on International Women's Day, March 8.
